Sadly the 2020 Shanghai International Literary Festival has been postponed!
We certainly hope to be back to this splendid festival in 2021. Stay tuned! |
The renowned Shanghai International Literary Festival is China’s leading English-language literary event.
For the past 16 years, many of the world’s greatest writers and thinkers have dialogued with enthralled readers along Shanghai’s famous waterfront ‘Bund’. Our previous trips in 2018 and 2019 were fully escorted by Mandarin-speaking and literature-buff Margie Burke whose five+ years of residencies in Shanghai span pre and post development periods. Local English-speaking guides accompanied us on most excursions to provide additional inside knowledge, guidance and expertise. |
A past resident of Shanghai, Margie has an insider's knowledge which revealed hidden treasures that the average visitor could not access |
|
Our tour also included a four day literary festival pass, a selection of literary lunches and dinners with guest speakers, home-style northern dumpling lunch with Margie’s ‘Shanghai’ family and a Jazz performance at the original Sassoon-built Peace Hotel!!
